Steal a Chicken Steal Checklist

Nine boxes. If one fails, you are not stealing. You are volunteering the bird.

Steal Checklist

Open this list before you leave the pen, not on the nest. Combine it with the Speed planner. The steal itself is still how to steal.

The nine boxes

  1. Slot. Empty pen space exists. A steal with a full pen is a parade.
  2. Hands. Empty. No egg stack. Sell at the Merchant first.
  3. Speed. Local Guard test already passed on a carry. If not, sit.
  4. Path. You walked the run-back once this session.
  5. HUD. Codes window closed. Shop closed. Controls not covering pickup.
  6. People. You counted the other four players. Nobody faster is already on your nest.
  7. Value. The bird beats what you would replace. Use chicken tiers. Do not 3v1 a rainbow for a screenshot.
  8. Night. If the flip is imminent, wait for new chickens unless you are already in the nest. Do not start a kite into a restock animation you do not understand.
  9. Exit. You will bank even if a better bird spawns behind you. Greed is how S-tier becomes D-tier.

If box 6 fails, change nests or hop. Five players. You can see them.

Extra boxes for Cosmic

  • You are not doing this as your first steal of the hour.
  • You can leave the drop if a tag happens. Ego recovery is how third parties eat.
  • You read Cosmic Zone and still want this nest.

If those fail, mid nests exist. They pay the treadmill.

After the steal

Bank. Wait one beat. Then either sell or sit. Do not chain. Chaining is how the Guard leash you forgot about still exists.

If you got batted, run protection in your head: was the bat your fault (carry through mid) or theirs (camp)? Fix the habit, not the player. You will see them again.

If you used a script to skip a box, you did not complete the checklist. You skipped it. The wiki cannot stop you. The report button can.

Worked failures

You skip box 2 and steal with eggs. A bat lands. You lose the eggs and the new bird. The Merchant never saw either. That is the most expensive skip on this list.

You skip box 6 because the rainbow “is right there.” Two hunters arrive. You become the third party. Nobody banks. The nest restocks later for the player who waited at the treadmill.

You skip box 9 because a Cosmic silhouette spawned mid-kite. You turn. The Guard tags. Both birds stay on the sand. Box 9 exists because the game will always offer a shinier nest behind you.

Check the boxes at the pen. Steal one bird. Bank. If you need a second opinion, the Speed planner is the only other tool. There is no third list that makes greed safe. Greed is optional. The Guard is not.

Print the nine boxes in your head until they are boring. Boring checklists bank more chickens than exciting Cosmic attempts. If you invite a friend, send them this page after getting started, not a clip of a horned bird. The clip skips every box. The boxes are why the clip was possible.

If you fail three boxes in a row, hop servers. The same four hunters will keep punishing the same skipped box. A new five-player mix is cheaper than arguing in chat.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Steal a Chicken questions.

What is the first checklist item?

An empty pen slot. Never steal with nowhere to sit.

Should I steal with eggs in hand?

No. Sell first. Eggs are cash you can drop.

What if a faster player is on the nest?

Leave. Steal mid or hop. See the players hub.

Do I need this for C-tier birds?

Yes, shorter. Slot, hands, Speed, and path still matter. A starter chicken drops just as easily if you skip the kite and steal through a crowd.
