Steal a Chicken Zone Tier List

Risk first, loot second. Cosmic is a wall with a nest, not a free S-tier fountain.

Zone Tier List

Zones in Steal a Chicken are nest neighborhoods with different Guards and different Speed expectations. The live listing does not publish a named biome list with Forest/Lake/Desert copied from other games, so this page ranks risk bands you can actually see: early nests on open sand, mid rings with louder Guards, and Cosmic Zone.

If your server paints a nest with a label, use that label. This framework still applies: deeper usually means better layers and meaner kites.

Early — starter sand

The thumbnail nests with mixed white, crystal, and rainbow chickens sitting in the open. This is where getting started lives. The Guard is real but the leash is the tutorial. Steal here until a straight kite with a carry works.

Early is S-tier for learning and C-tier for long-term income. Farm it after a death. Farm it when Cosmic is contested. Farm it when your pen is empty. Do not be embarrassed. Empty pens do not lay Cosmic eggs.

Mid — contested rings

Once early kites are boring, mid nests are the real game. More players path here. Bats happen. Egg quality jumps. You should have Kibrix Runner’s +10K Speed and some treadmill time before you live here.

Mid is A-tier for most accounts. It funds pen size. It funds more Speed. It is where how to protect matters more than nest choice. A perfect mid bird you bank beats a Cosmic bird you donate.

Night restocks hit mid hard because everyone can see the flip. Arrive after the flip with empty hands, not with a Merchant stack. See the Merchant timing notes.

Cosmic — late wall

Cosmic is S-tier loot and D-tier advice for under-Speed players. The badge rate is the proof. Treat it as a raid, not a commute. One bird, one slot, one run. If the nest is empty, leave. Camping Cosmic while mid nests are full is how your pen starves.

Cosmic also concentrates hunters. Five-player servers make this obvious. If the fastest player is already there, steal mid. You are not owed a horned chicken.

Routing a night

  1. Sell eggs.
  2. Check Speed versus the Guard you actually plan to kite.
  3. Hit early only if the pen is hungry.
  4. Hit mid if you can hold the carry.
  5. Hit Cosmic only if the nest is stocked and the path is yours.
  6. Bank. Sit. Do not chain three Cosmic attempts because the first drop was “right there.”

Use the chicken tiers to decide replacements after the route, not during the kite. Looking at a tier list while the Guard closes is a controls issue. Read controls if that is you.

Crowding versus zone rank

A mid nest with one farmer is safer than a Cosmic nest with two hunters. Zone tier assumes an empty-ish path. In a five-player lobby you must re-rank live. If four people already path Cosmic, Cosmic is F-tier for you tonight. Steal early. Sell. Sit. Hop if the lobby is a Cosmic convention.

The same invert happens after a restock: early sand can be S-tier for ten seconds because nobody is looking at white chickens. Take them. Pens that start the night with four C-tier layers beat pens that start the night with zero because you waited for a rainbow that three bats already claimed.

Re-rank after every death. The zone did not change. Your Speed and your crowding did. The Speed planner and this list should agree before you walk. If they disagree, Speed wins. A beautiful zone with a Guard you cannot kite is just a loading screen with extra steps.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Steal a Chicken questions.

What is the first zone I should steal from?

Early sand nests. Bank a bird, sell eggs, then move out as Speed allows.

Is Cosmic always the best zone?

For loot, if you can clear it. For progress, mid nests pay more if Cosmic is contested.

Do zones restock at night?

The listing says new chickens every night. Be empty-handed at the flip.

Are Steal an Egg biomes the same here?

No. Do not copy Forest/Lake tables. Rank the nests you can see in this game.
