Nest Locations in Steal a Chicken

Every Steal a Chicken run starts at a nest. This page maps where nests sit relative to pens, Guards, and each other so you stop improvising mid-run. The live listing does not publish a named biome list with Forest or Lake labels copied from other games — it shows open sand, ring formations, and a late-zone cluster. This page ranks what you can actually see and plan around.

The five-player server makes routing non-negotiable. Two thieves at the same nest is a bat. Three is a party. Know the map before you need it.

Early sand nests

The starter area shown in promotional thumbnails: white chickens, a green crystal bird, and a rainbow bird sitting in loose formations on open sand. These are the tutorial zone. Guards are present but leash short. Speed requirement is low — if the Kibrix Runner group bonus and treadmill time put you above 15K, early nests become boring.

Why still steal here:

• After a death when the pen is empty.
• When Cosmic and mid are contested.
• As a safe grab before a night restock.

Early sand nests restock with the night cycle. They are the first fill and the first empty. Standing in an early nest as the flip hits is correct only if you have Speed and a clear path. Otherwise sell eggs first.

Mid-ring nests

The upgrade from early sand. Chickens sit in tighter ring or cluster formations with a louder Guard on a longer leash. Egg quality jumps. Player traffic jumps harder in a five-player server.

Mid rings are where how to protect matters more than nest choice. A clean mid bird you bank beats a Cosmic bird you donate. Speed gates here are real — if early Guards tag you on a straight kite, mid Guards will eat.

Mid rings are the night-restock sweet spot. Arrive after the flip with empty hands and a free pen slot. Do not arrive with a Merchant stack. The best eggs in mid rings go to players who walked in empty.

Cosmic Zone nests

The late area. A horned purple Guard watches horned purple chickens. Promotional art puts this cluster at the far edge of the map from the spawn and pen area. The badge rate — roughly 4.7 percent of players as of September 2026 — tells you everything about the Speed requirement without printing a number.

Cosmic nests do not forgive improvisation. Plan the run:

• Approach from the home-side with empty hands.
• One bird. No window-shopping.
• Run the practiced line. No bat until the pen lip.
• Bank and wait.

Respawn and restock timing

The official listing says new chickens arrive every night. That night cycle is the economy reset. Players who arrive early wait. Players who arrive after the flip walk into fresh birds.

Restock routing:

1. Sell current egg stack at the Merchant.
2. Check Speed against the Guard you plan to kite.
3. Walk to the target nest empty-handed.
4. Steal after the flip — not during a carry.
5. Bank immediately. Do not chain steals with a hot Guard.

A night restock is not a patch note. Badge awards going up is not a patch note. If the Guard feels different two nights in a row, re-read treadmill.

Reading your server

Five players means the map changes every restock. Before you path to any nest:

• Count visible players. If four are already at Cosmic, Cosmic is F-tier tonight.
• Watch who paths where after a flip. Early sand that is empty for ten seconds after restock is an S-tier grab.
• Note who bats and who farms. A server full of farmers is safer than a server full of hunters.

Nest priority framework

Use this before every steal:

1. Can I hold the carry from this nest?
2. Is the path clear of faster players?
3. Does my pen have a free slot?
4. Is the Guard leash short enough for a clean kite?

If all four are yes, steal. If not, sell eggs, train Speed, or hop servers. Nests do not care that you traveled. The Guard does not care that you waited.
